TCO Agromart Partners and employees (Karen Harder, Dexter Harder, Sandra O’Neill, Terry O’Neill, Patrick O’Neill and Larry Hutchinson) came together to find a way to help and give back when they found out Sarah Wilson’s (Dexter and Karen Harder’s daughter) devastating news. The TCO team was inspired to find a way to help and decided to bake cookies to sell for a donation to Cancer Care at Belleville General Hospital.
“This stirring tribute in support of a coworker reminds us it is through our relationships that we get the support we need to tackle some of the greatest challenges”
Congratulations TCO Agromart on raising $5,220 for a wonderful and personal cause!
When bad news struck Sarah Wilson’s family again, her coworkers at TCO Agromart Ltd. were inspired to find a way to help. Little did Sandra O’Neill know how far her original idea of baking cookies to sell for a donation to Cancer Care at Belleville General Hospital would take them!
Sandra and Terry O’Neill worked with their business partners at TCO, including Patrick O’Neill, Karen and Dexter Harder and Larry Hutchinson, to share resources, volunteer shifts and even kitchen space. Their spontaneous ‘Cookies for Cancer’ fundraiser rose to unexpected heights selling approximately 1000 cookies in a few short weeks. Baked from scratch, every aspect of this endeavour was donated — including the ingredients, the boxes to package the cookies, the pickup and drop off of cookies and all the baking and subsequent dishwashing!
Thanks to their customers, their family and friends and of course Sarah’s coworkers, the labour of love raised $5220 for the Belleville General Hospital Oncology Department. Even while undergoing treatment at the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic, Sarah was moved to bake a few batches herself, with her kids helping as cookie tasters of course.
This stirring tribute in support of a coworker reminds us it is through our relationships that we get the support we need to tackle some of the greatest challenges. BGHF is very grateful to have positive relationships with our many donors. Every donation helps to improve patient outcomes for our entire region. Thank you to everyone who helped with this fundraiser!

A message from our local Bayer Market Development Agronomist, Katie Macfarlane. A few things to consider this week with a lot of fields emerging and some cool nights still in the forecast.
Corn
Corn is less susceptible to frost injury before V5 (Corn growth staging guide)because the growing point remains below ground.
The growing point of soybeans is exposed at emergence, so they can be more susceptible to frost damage than corn (Soy growth staging guide). However, complete death of the plant usually won’t occur unless temperatures are below -2°C for several hours.
Our team at TCO Agromart is having a fundraiser selling chocolate chip cookies for cancer. Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way and currently one of our staff members, Sarah Wilson, from Brighton is undergoing treatment. We want to support Sarah and others in their fight and you can help us by ordering cookies. All money raised will go to the Cancer Clinic at Belleville General Hospital.
Here’s how it works:
Order by Wednesday, March 29th for pickup on Friday, March 31st at the location of your choice.
Orders can be placed by sending a message or emailing orders@tcoagromart.com. Please indicate which location you want to pick the cookies up at.
The price is $10/dozen. Cash on pickup is preferred or e-transfer to orders@tcoagromart.com
We are also accepting general donations towards this great cause!

PurYield provides yield and bottom-line benefits in all row crop production, including corn, soybeans and wheat. PurYield is a granular Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer that consists of urea with an innovative, proprietary polymer coating. The release rate is driven by the soil temperature.
Advantages:
The polymer coating slows the natural processes of nitrogen conversion and volatilization, making nitrogen available to plants over a longer portion of the growing season, which improves uptake efficiency and minimizes environmental risks.
Available in different release durations according to the coating thickness, generally ranging between 30 and 90 days.
In harmony with 4R Nutrient Stewardship practices (rate source at the right rate, in the rate place at the right time)
Application methods:
Suitable for blending and all application methods utilized for standard urea.
