Attention Poultry Customers!

Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu Influenza (HPAI) virus has been detected in Ontario, with a recently confirmed case detected in a backyard poultry flock in Picton, ON. You can visit the Poultry Industry Council website for all needed information on the Avian Influenza and what you need to do at home or on farm to protect your poultry: https://www.poultryindustrycouncil.ca/resources/biosecurity-and-disease. 

Avian influenza is a reportable diseased under the Health of Animals Regulations. This means that all suspected ceases must be reported to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). You can reach the CFIA Avian Influenza Surveillance and Diagnostics line by calling 226-217-8022, available 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
